Habits That Hold
Body weight shifts with water, sodium, hormones, how much is currently in your digestive tract, and whether you slept. Day to day, most of what you are seeing is noise.
That doesn't make the scale useless. It makes it useless daily. A single morning's number carries very little signal; the direction across several weeks carries quite a lot.
Look at the trend across weeks. Not the number this morning.
The scale measures one thing badly. These often tell you more about whether something is working:
If stepping on the scale reliably sets the tone of your day, that is real and worth taking seriously. Some people do better weighing weekly. Some do far better not weighing at all and tracking the things above instead.
The scale is a tool. If a tool is consistently making the job harder, you are allowed to put it down.
